Keith Blackwood

Dave Tait became the 10th Captain of the 44th in 1999. He is now the longest serving Captain the Company has ever had. Born and bred in Aberdeen he lived locally in the Mannofield area and during his childhood when he was actually a boy member of the Company under Captain John Allan. After university he moved out of the area but returned as a member of staff in 1991. He never looked back and was the natural sucessor when John Allan retired. Working in the iT indusrty he is married to Heather and has two grown up daughters.

 

Keith Blackwood

Reverend Keith Blackwood was inducted as minister of Mannofield Parish Church in June 2007 and was immediatelly keen to become the new Chaplain of the 44th. For the previous 10 years he was minister at Bearsden North Church, Glasgow. His early life was spent in Motherwell, Lanarkshire and he obtained a B.D and Diploma of Ministry from Glasgow University. He served two years as Assistant Minister at Alloway Parish Church, Ayr, before being called as minister to Bearsden North Church. He is married to Katrina and together they have three sons – Aaron, Finlay and Angus. All the boys are or have been enthusiastic members of the Company.
